14th December 2010

Today we found out what song we would be doing for the music video. The song is 'The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)' which has been done by Cher. They said that they chose this song because everyone knows it. Also we found out today that the filming date was to be changed, again. Now we will bw filming on the 23rd December 2011. Our group will be filming on the same day as the group who are doing the band 'Group Therapy' and that we would be helping them film their video in the morning and they would be helping us film our video in the afternoon.

13th December 2010

Today was more about the planning of the video. One of the members of the band came into school and we got some of the answers that we were looking for. The first one was that they liked the Motown theme idea, which we had originally decided weeks ago. Also the name was decided today. They liked the name that we had chosen so now our unknown band is now called 'The Harmonettes'. We did find out today that we wouldn't be doing 'Single Ladies' for the music video because they said that not all of the band would knows the song. They said that they would let us know in the morning what song they will be doing for the video, so all of the research that I had done on 'Single Ladies' is useless. We also discussed the dates that we could film on. We said to them about either the 4th January, 7th January or 11th January 2011. They then said that they could do the 16th January 2011 which is on a Sunday because they would all be off of work. Also the location was discussed. As a group we couldn't come up with a place that we thought was really nice, the only plasce we could think of was the school hall but we didn't think that this wasn't that nice. We found out that there was this new place in St Neots that would be opening so we could film there. It was also suggested that we would film on the same day as another group who are doing the band 'Group Therapy', as most of the band from band are in theirs.

7th December 2010

Today Chelsea and Molly weren't here so Max and I decided what the roles could be for the DVD extras. Obviously these roles have to be comfirmed by Molly and Chelsea. these are the roles:

I have not heard the answers to the questions that we asked so I am unsure as to what the cover or anything else would look like.

3rd December 2010

On the 3rd December 2010 we discussed the the dates that we could film on. They include 4th Janurary 2010, 7th Januaray 2010 or the 11th January. We also discussed possible locations for the shoot whcih included the school hall amongst other places. Also we discussed possible name ideas. We decided that on Monday 6th December 2010 that we would have a meeting to discuss the answers to the questions that we had asked the band leader.

First Research Assignment

The first assignment that I got was to research the target market and the original video for the song that the band wants to do a video for, 'Single Ladies' which was performed originally by Beyonce. For the target market I looked at a range of song lists that would be played at weddings. By looking at the different song lists that are played at weddings I have learnt something. I have learnt that at most weddings they have to play a range of songs that are aimed at a variety of people because all sorts of people would come, from all ages. I have also learnt through looking at some song lists that there are also themed weddind song lists as well. There was a song list from the theme that we wanted to do for our band's video, Motown. The song that we would be probably doing for the music video, 'Single Ladies' originally done by Beyonce, is also on the Motown themed wedding song list that I looked at.
